How do I publish Electa Live recorded sessions on my website?

This article describes the following topics

  • How to publish recordings which reside in your Electa Live library on your website;
  • How to build your own playable links to recordings that reside on another website/storage;

 This article does not discuss how how to give playback permissions to registered students. This is explained in the related articles below.

Publish a recorded session that resides in your Electa Live Recorded Sessions Library

Log into your Electa Live account,

Click on Resources -> Recorded Classes,

Find your recording in the library and click the red options button next to it. Click Options,

On the properties page click Get Links,

Copy the Playable link and publish it is a normal html link you your site.

Publish a recorded session that resides in another location

Electa Live recordings are files with one of the following extensions - .el8, .el7, .el6, .el5 or .electa. Such files can be played locally on computers, but you may want to make them available for users to play over the internet. To make your files available online you need to create playable links.

To do so first upload your file on some location which is available in the internet. Finally you should end up with a link like that:

http://some-web-location.com/your-file.el8

Once you have your file available through such a link building a playable link is as easy as having the below:

https://www.school-network.net/E/?url=http://some-web-location.com/your-file.el8

...that is - replace the red part of the above link with your own file location.

Some web servers may not allow serving files with el8 or similar extensions. In this case you have to configure your web server to allow the following mime types:
.el8 - application/octetstream
.el7 - application/octetstream
.el6 - application/octetstream
.el5 - application/octetstream
.electa - application/octetstream
Please, refer to your web site hosting support documentation on how to add mime types.
